Capital Appeal
Kings Cross
Kings Cross has changed dramatically over the last twenty years. For those who enter the area at Kings Cross Station it would appear unrecognisable from its previous existence. Expensive coffee shops and restaurants line attractive pedestrian boulevards, overlooked by high end apartments with canal side views.
But behind this facade lies a community left behind. Excluded from this regeneration and still struggling day to day with poverty, disadvantage and health inequalities. For the young people we work with who have grown up during this period it can often feel like they don’t belong, that they don’t matter or will ever have the same life chances that others enjoy.
Our Current Hub
This sense of ‘us and them’ is exacerbated by the poor state of our main ‘youth hub’ at Kings Cross Neighbourhood Centre. Whilst a valuable space for young people to enjoy and feel safe in, it is untouched by the regeneration and upgrading of other buildings around Kings Cross.
Environmentally unfriendly, unfit for its intended purpose and limiting in the amount of young people we can support it needs capital improvements to bring it up to date for the 21st Century
Our Plans
Having secured planning permission we have exciting plans to do just that – to give young people the space and support they deserve.
Take a look at our exciting plans in the brochure below or download it by clicking on the button.
